Hair/armor/feathers/fur: He has the same black, ringletted hair as his elder sister, Fhariji, which he pulls into a spiralled ponytail at the base of his neck. It falls between his shoulder-blades, and in the right light short fly-aways give him an electric blue "aura."
Skin/exoskeleton/scales/markings: His skin is naturally rather dark with a faintly reddish, brown hue. He has a faint smattering of freckles across his cheeks that had better not be mentioned in his company. One scar of note runs up and back from the left side of his chin and stops abruptly at his cheek where a blade literally imbedded itself in his cheekbone before stopping. It was probably the last time Navune ever picked up a sword.
Limbs: Nothing spectacular of note with his limbs. He has the typical set of arms, legs, and head that are common to humans, no deformities or extra limbs. He does have several scars from burns, nicks and cuts that are all marks of his trade, however.
Eyes: Z'sig is used to squinting into molten metal, the unaccustomed sunlight, and when focusing or aiming, and therefore has that narrow look to them that gives him a surly expression unless his carelessness is pointed out to him. Then would follow a muttered, "Oh," when he reveals a rather attractive face, wide, dark-brown eyes, and long eyelashes.
Size/Physique: Z'sig is notably shorter than his Amazonian sister, but still stands well over 6-feet tall. He more than makes up for it from his time in the metal shop, forging and swinging large, metal weapons such as swords, maces, and his favorite, the halberd. He has long but bulky muscles overall, as one can imagine.
Other: He has gotten into the habit of wearing leather clothing, anything from heavy-duty spark-resistant trousers and apron, to softer or sueded leather when he's off relaxing or practicing his weapons techniques.
Animal-shifting: No, he cannot do this. Or perhaps he simply does not want to, as rumor has it that he is capable of it, but has shifted enough to decide against it. What animal has chosen him? Perhaps that will be revealed in the future.
Combat: His fighting style is endurance and power oriented. He is capable of using swords, maces, clubs, poles, and spears; anything he can forge he will take it upon himself to learn. His favorite weapon is the halberd and focuses on this weapon for his mastery.
Metalsmithy: He is developing his techniques quite readily, though his style is more functional and powerful than ornamental.

Attitude: He is a man of few words and comes across as rather blunt without really intending to rub people the wrong way. If it is pointed out to him, he will apologize, usually in a monosyllabic way. The only thing that really bothers him is when people tease him, even if in jest he just does not want to hear about it (or his freckles, which in his opinion make him appear childish).

Zansig was born at Darkling Dawn though he is aware of a unique heritage involving animal spirits and shifting forms. He is either unable or unwilling to develop these abilities. Instead, he has spent probably half his life at Darkling Dawn studying his craft, until his life was changed forever. Then it only seemed prudent to transfer with the rest of his dragon-riding family to Sedona.
He learned at a fairly young age the meaning of death when he lost his parents and an elder sister in riding accidents. He had his hands full, however. No matter how generous his eldest brother, Magjhizu, seemed to be in taking on the care of his younger siblings, it was Zansig whom was ultimately responsible for them (at least in his view). As soon as he was old enough, Zansig was babysitting the twins. His closest friend Navune was a great relief, and together they threw themselves into the craft.
